Committee 2011 - 2012
President - Zsofi Novak
zsofia.novak@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
As President, I am responsible for the
smooth running of the whole boat club. I
represent the interests of the boat club to
College and the LCBC Society, and liaise with
the sponsors. Additionally, I make sure that
equipment is up to standard, and coordinate
with the Men's and Women's Captains.
Treasurer - Ben Partridge
benjamin.partridge@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
As Treasurer, my role has three main parts.
Firstly, I have to budget the club's finances
and make sure we have sufficient money to
cover our expenses. Secondly, I am
responsible for ensuring regatta entries and
any purchases we make are paid for. Thirdly,
I maintain the accounts to be confident that
everything is working financially. The
treasury is definitely the driest job in the
club (a poor pun, I know!), but it's perfect for
lovers of number-crunching like me!
Men's Captain - Chris Wallis
christopher.wallis@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
I am responsible for the day to day operation
of the Men's squad at LCBC, organising
training, coaching and entering boats into
Regattas. However, there being three Men's
captains my main focus is on the 1st VIII,
being responsible for crew selection,
scheduling outings and training programmes
Women's Captain - Aisling Leow
aisling.leow@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
As Women's Captain, my job is to oversee
women's rowing at Lincoln. This includes
setting crews, sorting out training schedules
and organising coaching. It's also my job to
enter women's crews for regattas and other
races and to make sure that all the women in
the boat club are happy and ready to
compete.
Men's VC - Scott Holmes
scott.holmes@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
My role is to support the Men's captain in
running the Men's squad but with particular
focus on the development of the 2nd VIII,
selecting the squad and training regimes. I
also must ensure the growth of a strong talent
pool from which rowers may advance to the
1st VIII for the continual success and glory of
LCBC.
Women's VC - Emily Strang
emily.strang@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
As Women’s Vice-Captain my role is primarily
to support the Women’s Captain! I'm here to
help oversee women’s rowing at Lincoln so
will be involved with things such as recruiting
and training novices, organising training
schedules and setting crews . Other than that
I’ll just be around to help out in any way I
can!
Men's LBC - Barnaby Roberts
barnaby.roberts@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
The main purpose of the Male Lower Boats
Captain is to train novice rowers for the Christ
Church regatta. This is a novice only event
held at the end of the first term. After that I
will looking to train anybody who wants
to join LCBC, so will hopefully be trying to put
together novice crews ready for any other
event.
Women's LBC - Miranda Kent
miranda.kent@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
The Women's Lower Boat Captain encourages
new people to try rowing and is responsible
for training novice boats. The focal point for
new members is the Christ Church Regatta
midway through Michaelmas term, after
which novices join the senior squads, but new
rowers are welcome to join at any point
during the year.
Captain of Coxes - Daisy Fannin
daisy.fannin@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
As Captain of Coxes, my mission is to encourage
people to take part in the wonderful world of rowing
whilst avoiding the unpleasant experience of
working up a sweat: by steering boats and
encouraging/shouting at the rowers. My
responsibilities include sorting out who will cox
which boats in outings and races and setting coxes
with a crew so that they can get to know their
rowers. I also deal with Health & Safety, filling out
incident reports and making sure we have enough
life jackets and lights for the boats.
Secretary - Emily Howe
emily.howe@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
The role of Secretary basically concerns the
non-financial admin of LCBC. This means
organising and minuting Committee meetings,
handling kit orders, and management of
the website. I'm also reponsible for the
efficient and banterous operation of
Committee elections in Trinity term, and
to ensure that all regattas and races are
suitably marshalled and umpired by Lincoln
reps.
Web Officer - Flo Driscoll
florence.driscoll@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
As web officer I am responsible for updating
and maintaining the LCBC website, making
sure that Lincoln's rowing triumphs are
suitably documented for the world to see! I
am also in charge of producing a newsletter
for LCBC alumni and keeping the boat club
twitter feed updated during major
competitions.
Social Secretaries -
Visar Beqiri, Ruth Burrow,
Patrick Ray
visar.beqiri/ruth.burrow/patrick.ray
@lincoln.ox.ac.uk
We are responsible for all of the non-rowing events
that make the boat club such a great thing to be a
part of. From the more glamorous black tie dinners
after Summer VIIIs and Torpids to the not so
glamorous crew dates at Jamal's (and all in
between), our responsibility is to provide
opportunities for everyone in the boat club to
have fun with those they train with and to build a
community within the club.
