LCBC exists to provide rowing training and competition facilities for the students of Lincoln
College, a constituent college of the University of Oxford. A combination of Lincoln's steely
determination to improve and the efforts of recent Boat Club Committees has culminated in
huge, recent successes for the club. Lincoln was the second largest boat club on the Isis at
the 2011 Summer Eights (no small feat for such a small college) and in 2011 LCBC took three
sets of blades in regattas, including the first set of blades for W1 in 15 years. We also took
great pride in the four Lincoln rowers who rowed and won for Oxford this year at the Henley
Races and each year send several rowers to trial for university squads.
Lincoln boat club is truly inclusive, taking rowers from novice to international level and
making sure that each and every rower receives top level coaching and support. Lincoln
boats this year contained rowers from all over the globe, spanning an age range of almost
twenty years.
The club also operates an excellent annual trip to Banyoles Lake in Spain, host of the rowing
events at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The week long trip gives rowers a great chance to
compress a term's worth of rowing into a fantastic, usually sunny, week in Spain.
LCBC also has a truly fantastic social side. Whether it's formal dinners and, wine and cheese
evenings, or post-outing drinks at 'Spoons, crew dates and general banter, there is something
for everyone socially at LCBC. Numerous social functions occur each term and much fun is
had by all. For more information about LCBC's social side, please contact the Social
Secretaries via the 'Committee' section on this site.
Whether you're a current rower, alumnus, or prospective student, you should find
everything about rowing at Lincoln on this site. If you have any further queries, please do
not hesistate to get in touch with any of the Committee members on the relevant section of
this site.
